What can you find on our web servers?

# The Weather: Look at the map of Belgium which includes digital photographs of the current weather situation at the coast, inland and in the Eifel/Ardennes. Those pictures are taken each day by several photographers all over the country. In this section you will also find the current snow situation (during winter) and the condition of our famous ski slopes in the areas of Hohes Venn, Eifel and Ardennes. There are also some other links to weather information available elsewhere on the net.

# Events Calendar: A deep database with thousands of cultural, sporting and political events in East-Belgium. We also provide links to the events calendars of the other cities in the Euregio: Aachen, Maastricht, Hasselt and Liege. And you see the listings of courses and congresses held by the Chamber of Commerces in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.

# Culture: We believe that culture is made by people like you and us. Therefore we have included in this section about 500 homepages with information of the local associations and clubs.

# Tourism: The complete information from the local Tourist Association of the East-Cantons, is displayed here and you will find in this section also famous resorts like the nature park Botrange, the Sporting Center of Worriken, a number of hotels and touring operators as well as to other sightseeing opportunities in the Euregio.

# Media: In the German speaking part of Belgium most of the media are in German. We host all of the east-Belgian media on our servers. Each morning you will find the latest news articles from the "BRF", the public broadcasting station of the German-speaking Community, as well as the official web sites of the radio and TV networks of Belgischer Rundfunk BRF, KA3 and HitRadio105. The press-agencies Euregiomedia, RMB Mediastore and the Medienzentrum der Deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft can also be found in this section. Besides that, we have links to hundreds of other online newspapers and magazines in Europe.

# Business: Apart from the alphabetical index to hundreds of companies from the Euregio that are hosted on our web servers, you get free access to our database with information on 1,250 Eastbelgian and Euregional enterprises. The information includes addresses, products & services and trademarks. Other links include institutions like Arbeitsamt, Forem, Saba, Abeo, WFG, OBI (Ostbelgien-Invest), the Chambers of Commerce and the business-relevant web sites of government and financial institutions.

# Computer: Interesting computer news can be found here. Plus a list with addresses for computer hard- and software, training and support in the Euregio. And there is interesting information about the missing EURO symbol on your computer keyboard. Read about and download here the Submission Wizard, an application to submit your web site fully automated to hundreds of search engines in the net. The E.R.E.S.C. Database is the euregio.net Register for European Stolen (or lost) Computers. Our Games Compatibility List has short english descriptions and compatibility tests performed on 930 Macintosh Games, all tested on 68030, 68040 and PowerPC Macs, and tested on OS Version 6.0, 7.1 and/or Color machines. Valuable information for owners of older Macs to look what is still compatible on their mac(hine). Not to forget other listings of Web sites from where applications for Internet, for both Macintosh and PC Computers can be downloaded.

# Education: This part of our web site is only available in German. Same is valid for the "Weiterbildungshandbuch der Deutschsprachigen Regierung 1997-1998". In this section we also inform you about the progress of the PostDoc project, a project for continuous training of GP's (General Practitioner) in the Euregio, under development by euregio.net together with the 4 Universities of the Euregio, in Maastricht, Diepenbeek, Liège and Aachen.

# Child Protection: This section contains the world famous euregio.net child protection web site, which has already delivered over 1,800,000 pageviews in the last 18 months. It contains valuable tips and tricks in 5 languages for parents, teachers and kids on how to protect (your) kids against sexual abuse, this was achieved in cooperation with several International Child Protection Institutions. But sadly enough, you will find here also the pictures of still missing kids in Belgium, the condolence-registers for the murdered girls Julie and Melissa, An and Eefje and Loubna Ben Aissa, and the complete text of the Report of the Parliamentary Commission Dutroux (in French or Dutch). Only in German available are our web sites against Drugs "Starke Typen sagen NEIN", the information about taxi service "Frederic und Marc" founded after too many young people in East-Belgium died in weekend-accidents, and an info site of the Young Responsible Drivers East Belgium, plus information about the Youth Card Euro>26 can be found here.

# Fun: What to do in the evenings or in the weekend? You'll find in this section a listing of some interesting private homepages hosted at euregio.net. But also the world-famous Easyscopes, Horoscopes and LoveTest web sites by Joe Savelberg and his party-joke Waterpowder, plus for the Equine Web Community the powerful Aachenbreed Horse Search Engine. Links to Adults sites, Political Info, and to Discos, Restaurants, Museums, Festivals, TV programs and Contact-Advertisements in the Euregio will follow soon.

# Europe: Information about the introduction of the EURO, some technical advice about the missing EURO symbol on your computer keyboard, and a lot of links to Europe-relevant web sites.

# Euregio: The Euregio Meuse-Rhine is an example of how border-crossing cooperation can be done in Europe. The most important web sites of the Euregio are all hosted at euregio.net. You will find in this section the following web sites: The official web site of the Euregio Maas-Rhein Institute in Maastricht with information about the institution, useful addresses and maps, but also information about subventions like Eureg und Interreg. The Chambers of Commerce of the Euregio: bundled infrastructural information and business-relevant information offered to you by the Chambers of Commerce of Eupen, Aachen, Maastricht, Hasselt, Liege and Verviers. The euregio.net Business Database with information about 1,250 Eastbelgian and Euregional enterprises including addresses, trademarks, offered services, products and brand names. Another Database offers the timetables and schedules of all Euregional public transport systems and provides the itinerary in terms of train- or bus-number in order to go from one place to another, even border-crossing. The press-agency Euregiomedia will offer here the local news form the Euregio on a daily basis in Dutch, French and German. And last but not least, the Euregio-Police informs here soon about their border-crossing actions, checks, laws and possible traffic jams.

# Cities: This section is under construction for the moment and will contain in future thousands of pages with local information for all Eastbelgian and some of the Euregional cities.

# Search: Our search page has been developed to help the Euregional web surfer who can search either the contents of our own web site or those of our clients. The current weather situation and snow reports. Search for a report from the newsrooms of the Belgischer Rundfunk (Belgian Radio). We also provide a long list with the most important national and international newspapers and magazines and a list of important national and international automobile web sites. Search the agenda of Eastbelgium, Aachen, the Eifel, Maastricht, Liege and Hasselt. Find the current bus schedules and lines in the Euregio plus route planning based on bus and train connections. Check our extensive list of famous search engines, or list of less known search engines, e.g. juridical, financial and medical search engines, etc. There is also a list of all online Yellow Pages published in the Euregio. Search almost all phone books of the world. Check the list of links to flight schedules from airports in the Euregio and from international airports. We have lists of all Belgian ZIPs and some of the ZIPs in the Euregio with links to their local web sites. Need foreign languages for travellers? We provide a fast translation of the most important expressions you need when travelling abroad and interesting information about countries and people, some of them containing the national anthem (it sounds!) and the national flag.
