Tatris Boster 1.0b This is a Tatris-like Game Mactivity's CD-ROM nr 10 advice: This application did run on a b/w 68030 processor under System 7.1. It was also tested on a big ColorScreen of a PowerMacintosh running System 7.1.2. The game was also tested on a Quadra with 68040 processor and a 13 inch Color Screen and System 7.1 by Mactivity. To use Tatris Boster(c) just drag the Tatris Boster CDEV into your system folder and reboot. You will find that after rebooting the CDEV has placed a file called "Tatris Boster Prefs." in your system folder. Don't Panic. This is normal behavior for the program. This is where your selections will be stored. To adjust Tatris Boster select its icon from the list shown in the Control Panel. This will bring up a Control Panel item which consists of 7 blocks. Each block will be explained in the following sections. Block 1: "Select the block you want" In Tatris(c), blocks of several different shapes fall from the top of the screen to the bottom. Using Tatris Boster you can control the type of blocks that fall from the top of the screen. Each block which has the check box below it checked will be one of the types that falls from the top. You can select any combination of blocks or any single block. You must have at least one block checked all of the time. Block 2: "Change it:" This tells Tatris Boster when to change the settings to reflect what has been selected. "Now" refers to once you leave the Tatris Boster CDEV and "On Startup" refers to the next time you boot up the Mac. Block 3: "On Off" This turns Tatris Boster "On" or "Off". When Tatris Boster is "Off" Tatris(tm) will act normally. NOTE: When not playing Tatris(tm) be sure to turn Tatris Boster "Off" or other games and utilities will be effected. See NOTE 1) at the end of this document. Block 4: "Startup Icon:" If this box is checked then an animation sequence is shown at boot time. I recommend that you leave this checked, the sequence is worth watching. If Tatris Boster is not installed then the Tatris Boster icon is shown crossed out. NOTE: Even when Tatris Boster is "Off" it is installed. If Tatris Boster is not installed then it will have no effect regardless of the settings. The only way to not install Tatris Boster is either with an "INIT picker" type of utility, a sever error at boot time, or the key indicated in "Disable Tatris Boster on:" was depressed at boot time. Block 5: "Disable Tatris Boster on:" When the Mac is being booted Tatris Boster looks for a key being pressed. If the key is pressed then Tatris Boster is not installed at all and the Mac must be rebooted to install Tatris Boster. The key that must be pressed to not install Tatris Boster is chosen in this section. You can use either the Option key, Command key, Control key, or Shift key. If "No Key" is chosen then Tatris Boster cannot be disabled from the keyboard at boot time. Back to the Computer Games Index
